About Me

I’m a Scorpio with Sagittarius rising and Capricorn moon. I’m 5’5” and I weigh 245 pounds. I’m 56 years old. I qualify for the Senior Discount at Good Will yet I still owe at least $60,000 in student loans. I have great health insurance because my boyfriend has a very good job. I wrote a book. I was in a movie. I started a storytelling company with my best friend. I had a handmade greeting card business, a concrete garden statue business, a beeswax Christmas ornament business, and a cookie decorating business. I made a stop motion short. I taught drawing at the jail. I have lifelong treatment-resistant depression and OCD. I drink at least five large coffees a day. I love the work of Remedios Varo, Joan Mitchell, Alice Neel, Cindy Sherman, Tina Barney, El Anatsui, Francis Bacon, Fra Lippi, Vermeer, John Singer Sergeant, Caravaggio, Cy Twombly, Kara Walker, Holly Hughes, Spalding Gray, Anne Carson, and many, many others. My favorite books are Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson, and The Warrior Woman by Maxine Hong Kingston. I also really like The Firm by John Grisham but I usually don’t mention it because it’s not very intellectual sounding. My favorite movie is Amadeus. My favorite foods are Sicilian dishes that my father and grandfather made that I can’t ever have because they are both dead and didn’t write down any of their recipes. Otherwise, my favorite meal is a Filet of Fish, fries, and a Diet Coke. I have been sober since 4/9/1996. Whenever I’m told to just be myself, I always think, “Which one?” I keep wanting to sew a dress but I never do it because I don’t have the right scissors and I hate having to haul out my machine.
